According to the statement released by the holding, as of November, a total of 3 million 425 thousand barrels of crude oil were produced in Turkey, and half of that production is supplied from Gabar. Turkey's highest quality oil is produced in Gabar, where daily oil production exceeds 61 thousand barrels.
While the country is progressing towards its goal of full independence in energy, a new ecosystem is being created by ensuring the development of national technologies in the oil industry on the territory of the country.
The Petrochemical Plant Project planned to be realized in Yumurtalık by Erdemoğlu Holding, which is the leader in the polyester sector in the region outside of China and India, will be one of the largest petrochemical facilities in Turkey. The first phase of the SASA Yumurtalık Project will commence in 2026 with an investment of 5,5 billion dollars.
Upon the commissioning of the SASA Yumurtalık project, whose investment budget will reach 25 billion dollars in the next 10 years, products obtained from crude oil will extend from raw materials, intermediates, and final products to yarn.
İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erdemoğlu Holding, whose views were included in the statement, invited attention to the oil exploration activities in the country and stated that they will produce petrochemical products using crude oil and condensate oil in their investments and that they want to learn about the next five-year plans of the oil wells in Gabar.
Erdemoğlu underlined that 22 billion dollars of petrochemical products are imported annually in Turkey, and said that they can have the chance to stop petrochemical imports with the domestic oil resources in Gabar.
Expressing that they want to build a refinery that will process approximately 6,5 million-ton products per year, and that they aim to increase that figure up to 13 million over time, Erdemoğlu added that, accordingly, a large import of items such as diesel, LPG, etc. can be prevented.
